The withdrawal of beach huts on the edge of Salvador on the perspective of tourists and locals

This article aims to identify the impact of the demolition of the waterfront beach huts Salvador, which occurred in August 2010 with a view to tourists and residents with regard to the provision of products and services. For this, a quantitative research, with the technique of field survey (survey) approach was performed. The sample was non-probabilistic convenience, consisting of two beaches goers who had stalls demolished: the Port of Barra and the Garden of Allah. Were completed 494 questionnaires in November 2011. In order to understand the differences of perspectives before and after the removal of beach huts and hence identify the impact of demolition, this paper has made a comparison between the primary data obtained in this study (and current for 2011) and secondary data a 2006 survey by SEBRAE about the services offered on the beaches according to specific criteria. The main conclusion was that the identification in the perception of the regulars, there was a drop in quality in the services and products on the beaches after the removal of the tents.Downloads
