Souvenirs’ consumption and tourism experience in Curitiba (PR)

The souvenirs are objects present constantly in tourist destinations, available to visitors, often greedy by consumption of this product type. Despite being little explored in scientific research and considered something of low value for some researchers, the souvenir has some biases to be explored, especially to what concerns the relation of the same with the ‘tangibilization’ of the tourist experience. To this end, after the literature search, carried out a field survey with the application of questionnaires to 50 visitors in three of the main tourist attractions in Curitiba, considering as criteria for choosing the fact that the souvenirs are being sold in this attractions. As main result, has been that the shopping experience can be considered significant during the trips, especially when it comes to buying souvenirs of visited places. So, it is identified that the souvenirs’ consumptions affects directly the tourist experiences in Curitiba.Downloads
