Interpretive and cultural tourism in the city of Ilhéus (BA): a proposal for the revitalization of Soares Lopes avenue

The use of urban spaces and cultural heritage as part of tourist attractiveness raise some reflections on the interference of tourism in the dynamics of diverse communities, the time in establishing new guidelines for planning for tourism. This paper aims to examine ways to revitalize the Avenida Soares Lopes, located in the city of Ilheus, Bahia, for the interpretation of cultural heritage for tourists and residents as an option for leisure, entertainment and education for the community. Through an exploratory and descriptive analysis (DENCKER, 2003) and using as a tool to analyze the array DAFO (TEIXEIRA, 2009), lists some strategies for positioning the Avenida Soares Lopes and cultural corridor of Ilheus, highlighting the need for enhancement of cultural heritage, with the structuring of equipment and socioeducational activities that promote a sense of belonging in the community in relation to culture and improving the local quality of life.Downloads
