Abstract:
The tourism has developed a large importance in the whole world and can generate important benefits for tourist destinations. That is a reason for a large number of localities stimulates the tourism in its territory. In this sense, the tourist destinations that obtain success in the differentiation process will keep an important competitive advantage in comparison with others. For this, a destination should achieve an attractive and differentiated image because it is considered one of the most important reasons for the choice of a travel destination, as well as for travel satisfaction and for a possible repetition of the same destination. In this manner, this research aims to analyze some of the most important models of the image formation process of a tourism destination. In this way, this study tries to contribute to the elaboration of adequate tourism destination marketing and for the sustainability of a destination supporting its image in the market.
