Parada gay de São Paulo: evento de compromisso social ou uma grande festa na Avenida Paulista?

Abstract:
The present article approaches the Gay Parade of São Paulo, having as central base the tourist vision of the event, the social commitment and the cultural and sexual diversity. It is known today, that this event generates a great number of tourist and budget for São Paulo city, receiving in 2005, according to its organization, 1,5 million of people. It is become fullfilled in this way, a study of the Brazilian homosexuality, taking the territoriality, instead of centering the analysis in a supposed common homosexual identity. By means of a historical and bibliographical survey, of informal colloquies and the participant comment, it understands this event as the dramatization of a homosexual experience in Brazil, particularly in the capital of the State of São Paulo and the possibilities of socialization of individuals that suffer prejudice because of its sexual orientation. In this direction, it is questioned here if this event has an excellent social matrix, generating positive quarrels on thematic and if the businessmen of the tourist target are prepared and made use to receive this parcel from the population.
